This was fun! I'll have to think up some of my own. I think a movie quote smack down is imminent.
Wow, I need to get out more. Or at least get HBO. I could only identify maybe 5 of those quotes, but the other ones made me laugh just the same. I'll have to go back and watch "Rudy" and "The Three Amigos" again, seeing as those are the only two movies we own. I'm sure I'll find some hilarious and/or moving quotes from those two lovely films.
I think I know about a third of them, another third I recognize (and use), and the rest I can't place at all.
Did these just pop out from the top of your head? Wow-I have a whole new level of respect for you.
Oh, this is my kind of smack-down! I think I can get maybe 2/3rds of them (i think)...I'll have to guess on some of the others, cause it's been a while, others I think you just made up!! If they were said randomly throughout a Sortor home movie, they don't count!
K--I know 14. 14! You've been watching movies without me, haven't you? It's OK. Here's one for you: "They're using skunks to heighten the atmosphere of squalor and despair! Brilliant!"
So far the score is as follows:
Shana +23
Todd +33 in the lead
Angie +23
I will give the rest of you a little more time before declaring a new champion. And Angie, I have absolutely no idea. I am stumped.
Oh and I'm actually VERY impressed that you guessed some of those. Well done!
"They're using skunks to heighten the atmosphere of squalor and despair!"??? I have heard that before...in a Will Ferrel movie...DANG IT! Am I getting closer?
Ben Stiller???
Is it Dodge Ball?
oh no...you won't get an email from me. i have no clue and would need the internet cheats. if we're playing calvin ball and i change the rule, then i could win. Here's an easy one from my favorite movie of my childhood-- Quote is: "Moon child"
Angie, is it from "Talledega Nights"? or "Kicking and Screaming?" I only saw those once and I can't quite remember.
Anna- no idea.
Melissa! I'm so happy to hear from you! I've tried to get onto your blog but its now private. Send me an invite chica!
YIKES! I only knew like 4 and heard of only 2 more...that's wild!~ There needs to be a more powerful word than Champion to describe you,
O Holy Winner of Movie Line-Knowledge!! You RULE! (Pending of course you provide the answers eventually...not that I don't trust you, I just want to know the names of the movies I'm missing out on.)
Di--you're on the right track, but it's not a Will Ferrell movie. It's actually form Dirty Work. Remember Chris Farley and the skunks at the end?
Ah, Di...thought you would have certainly seen the Never Ending Story?! Too bad! LOL, I just saw the movie last night that says "The Chad is great!" Yeah, I know one.
I know ALL of them....."Fool You!",
"Oh Great, a druish princess!"
Here is one of my favorites...
"You are everthing I never knew I always wanted!" can you guess the movie?
Gina that quotes sounds like its from one of those LDS Singles Ward or spin off movies...lol. Good luck Di!
Who's deleting their comments? You got something to say???
Angie! I saw that once about eight years ago so that makes me feel better that I didn't remember. Well played lil' sis.
Hey Gina I don't believe you. Why don't you go ahead and email me your answers and prove it Mrs. Smug-Pants McGee.
But you have me stumped once again on the movie line. I guess I'm only champion of my favorite movies.
Man I am leaving a lot of messages on my own blog. How lame of me. I just wanted to letchall know that I will be posting the answers tomarrow, so here is your last chance to be a champion.
Gina-- I know all of them plus one.
I'm the one who deleted my comments. I was gloating over my apparent victory...then discretion set in and I figured I was getting ahead of myself.
Todd, see if you can conquer the list on my blog. You've got stiff competition, though. Angpang is doing pretty great!
What's the prize for first place? Praise? Respect?
Oh man!? I haven't been seeing enough movies! Of course, I probably wouldn't like them as much as you all do, ex. "Ace Ventura, Private Detective". There were funny parts, but yikes!
I do know "Princess Bride", "Napoleon Dynamite",
"Wizard of Oz", "Series of Unfortunate Events", "Nacho Libre", and the "Beauty Pageant" one with Kirsty Ally.
Wow, you guys are AWESOME! What good memories! You make your Mommy proud!
It's actually "Ace Ventura: PET Detective." The whole synopsis of the movie is based on the title. Maybe this is why you didn't think it was funny? I can't think of any other reason.
